Gemma used to work with a few Chinese online ESL companies, such as Palfish, Tutor ABC, Itutor group, English First. Now she is running her own teaching business, offering group coaching, and charging over $100 an hour for one-on-ones and $200 - $300 an hour for groups.
Over the past 16 years, as a traditional teacher, Nicola worked with many online and offline companies/schools and taught general English at all levels. She wanted a change and joined the 21-Day Challenge. She is now getting 4-5 students every month and charge > $90 an hour.
Before the 21-Day Challenge, Grant had spent months trying to launch his own teaching business but was struggling to find students, was making less than $2K/month, and was about ready to give up. Richard started his teaching business in January 2022 after completing the 21-Day Challenge. He got 39 students in 2022 and increased his rate to $1000 / student for his 3:1 groups and $1200/student for one-on-ones. John is one of the school teachers whose teaching career was impacted by COVID. He had to find other ways to continue teaching and supporting his family. Lii is able to get more students every month, increase her price and, most importantly, enjoy her business because she finally discovered her own voice in her business and realized that she can be herself and only works with students who appreciate the authentic Lii
Hannah has been an ESL teacher for 12 years working for language schools. She decided to go independent in Feb 2021 but had tremendous challenges in social media posting. Luckily, after 1 year and a half, she has managed to overcome these challenges and increased her rate to $100 /hr.
Polly has been a traditional ESL teacher and examiner for almost 15 years. She hit rock bottom in her business earlier this year when she wasn’t able to get any clients for 3 months. She found ways to tackle her doubts and got 9 students after that very quickly at over $100 an hour.
Last year, Debbie left her full time job of 12 years at a middle school and started her own teaching business specializing in helping Italian speakers. She has begun working with 23 new clients in just the past year alone and recently increased her rate to $100 an hour.
